I see the world through the eyes my grandpa gave me. He taught me to look for beauty in places other than the obvious. When the sun sets, the sky to the west is beautiful, but most people only look west. Try looking east. the blues and purples are breathtaking. He also taught me to go wherever beauty takes me. Because of this, I am always trying new hobbies and I am always trying to find new skills.
My grandpa called me his gypsy princess. He told me I came from royalty and I believed him, because that's how he made me feel. There was never any proof of this heratige, but a grand-daughter doesn't need proof that she is royalty in her grandpa's eyes.
Because of that gypsy blood, whether real or not, I can't sit still and I can't stop looking for more. I hope you enjoy the adventure with me, then maybe you too can look at life through my "gypsy princess" eyes. But most of all, I hope I can share with you some of the talents that I've been blessed with, so you too will feel the warmth and comfort of color.
Years after my grandfathers death, we found this picture in his belongings. On the back it explains that this is his father's, great-grandmother, Harriet Cadge. My grandfather writes that she was a gypsy princess who fell in love with an Englishman. (and as he tells it, "Her family would never accept a marriage between the two, so she gave up her crown and ran away to be with the man she loved.") We have this picture and her name, but we haven't found anymore info on her. We may never know who she truly was, but in my heart beats royal blood. The royal blood from my grandpa, the king of making a child feel loved and uniquely special. The greatest man I will ever know.
